Nestled within the scenic ambiance of Towneley Park in Burnley, The Old Stables is not just a café; it’s a delightful escape for food lovers, nature enthusiasts, and families alike. With its charming atmosphere and a menu that boasts both hearty meals and comforting treats, The Old Stables invites you to enjoy a relaxing dining experience amidst the beauty of the park.

The café presents a variety of options sure to please every palate, but their homemade pies have earned a special place in the hearts of patrons. Imagine the flaky crust revealing tender, flavorful fillings – each bite is a testament to the care that goes into crafting them. Customers rave about the food, as reflected in Sarah Wilton's review, who enjoyed the homemade pies whilst basking in the sun after a delightful walk through the park.

However, it's not just about the pies; they also serve an array of delicious options that cater to diverse tastes, including scrumptious cakes and refreshing beverages. The chocolate fudge milkshake—hailed as one of the best ever—has captured the hearts of visitors like Lauren, who was pleasantly surprised by the café’s turnaround and her delightful meal. For those with a sweet tooth, the treat selection is an essential stop—though it’s worth noting the occasional hiccup, as pointed out by Paul Butcher, who found the Victoria cake somewhat off.

What makes The Old Stables truly special isn't just the food; it's the experience. With the enchanting view of the pond and Towneley Hall, as highlighted by Steve Falls, you can treat yourself to a meal while soaking in the stunning scenery. Families can find cozy seating with comfortable sofas, making it an ideal spot for lunch breaks when the kids are at school or for leisurely afternoons spent among friends.

Moreover, regardless of the crowd, the staff manages to keep a smile on their faces, even during peak hours, demonstrating their commitment to excellent service. Mike Bailey's experience with hosting a meal for 70 guests echoes this sentiment, reflecting the café’s capacity to cater to large gatherings with care and precision.

At The Old Stables, every meal is an experience to cherish. From its homemade delicacies to the welcoming atmosphere and breathtaking views, this café is a gem within Towneley Park, waiting to be discovered. Whether you’re looking for a quick bite after a day out in the park or a splendid meal to share with family and friends, The Old Stables promises a delightful culinary retreat.

Came in a couple of days ago with my partner after spending the day walking through the grounds of the park. The café was understandable busy with it being nice weather and the school holidays. We both decided to grab a bite to eat and ordered two pies. Both clearly home-made and tasted very nice. The staff were very rushed off their feet but could still keep a smile on their faces and help the customers. The floors were kept clean as there was a young lady constantly sweeping it. The coffees were good.

Had a latte and cake Victoria cake was starting to go mouldy on the side told waitress try saying it was just the cream staining the side . But I knew it was mouldy. First thing I bake for a living so I do know when a cake going off. I don't think I be ordering cake again .

Saturday 23rd Sept we hosted a meal at the Stables for 70 people. Everything was well prepared well served the staff were excellent very polite and quick. I personally thought the carvery was one of the nicest I've had for a very long time. As the organiser of the event I tried to make sure every one present was okay and happy with everything. I had two small complaints both of which I thought were unjustified. Overall excellent.

The last time I came it was terrible. I was convinced to try it again as I went to the park and its the only place for a meal. It has really turned around, no cheap vinegarry ketchup, the food wasn't gross in fact we all loved the food best meal ive had in a while very happy I also loved the chocolate fudge milkshake it was incredible one of the best milkshakes i've had if not the best. Happy to see a place so turned around they apparently also have yoghurt lollies for dogs. I don't have a dog myself but I find the idea very cute.

Came in yesterday after going into the hall it was very clean and tidy and the perfect place to have a spot of lunch while the kids are at school. We opted to sit on the sofas looking out to the pond and also towneley hall and the views are to die for and the food was divine and also very delicious. Service was excellent and everyone had a smile on their faces. Great place to go.
